LMP DESIGN AT ZAK WORLD OF FAÇADES HCMC 2025 - Façade Technology and the Future of Smart Buildings in Vietnam

18/08/2026

On 26 November 2025, LMP Design participated in Zak World of Façades HCMC 2025 at Vinpearl Landmark 81, Ho Chi Minh City, as part of a professional panel discussion on façade technology and the future of smart buildings in Vietnam.
Representing LMP Design, Ms Nguyen Thi Lan Phuong – Founder – joined experts from the fields of architecture, project management, façade engineering and building development. The discussion explored how façade design can contribute to improved building performance, operational quality and long-term sustainability as Vietnam’s urban landscape continues to evolve rapidly.

Façades – From Form to Building Performance
The façade is often the first element to shape the visual impression of a building, yet its role extends far beyond appearance. It forms the direct interface between architecture and the external environment, influencing natural light, heat gain, weather protection, durability and the comfort of interior spaces. From LMP Design’s perspective, an effective façade solution should be considered across multiple dimensions: architectural intent, technical performance, material selection, constructability, maintenance and impact throughout the building’s life cycle. When these factors are integrated from the outset, the façade can become a genuine part of a sustainable design strategy rather than simply an external finish.

Life-Cycle Thinking and the Role of Maintenance
One of the key issues raised during the panel was the need for a more holistic approach to façades – considering not only the moment a building is completed, but its entire period of use thereafter. A well-designed façade system must maintain both its aesthetic quality and technical performance over time. This requires designers to consider maintenance access, material durability, climatic conditions, replacement strategies and long-term operating costs from an early stage. For LMP Design, life-cycle thinking helps make design decisions more practical while creating more sustainable value for both investors and users.

Façades in the Context of Smart Buildings
Advances in technology are expanding the role of façades in a new generation of buildings. Beyond aesthetics and durability, façades are increasingly expected to improve energy performance, respond more effectively to environmental conditions and enhance the quality of the indoor experience. As Vietnam continues to develop high-density urban areas and increasingly large-scale projects, coordination between architecture, engineering, materials and operations becomes particularly important. Innovations in façade technology create meaningful value only when they are embedded within an integrated design strategy tailored to the climate, function and real-world operating conditions of each project.

Zak World of Façades HCMC 2025 brought together professionals from architecture, construction, façade engineering and building development.

LMP Design’s Perspective
For LMP Design, the façade is more than the “face” of architecture. It is where form, technology and the environment meet – an interface with a direct impact on spatial quality and the operational performance of a building. Participating in Zak World of Façades HCMC 2025 provided LMP Design with an opportunity to continue exchanging professional perspectives on how architecture can respond more effectively to emerging market demands – from performance and technology to sustainability and long-term value. In a well-designed building, the façade should do more than create an image. It should contribute to performance, experience and lasting value for the building itself.
