Interviewer: Recently, LMP Design secured 2 VMARK 2022 gold awards in the categories of architectural design, landscape, and resort apartment interior design. Could you elaborate more on the design inspiration behind this project?

Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan Phuong: Firstly, I am delighted and proud of the continuous efforts and creativity demonstrated by the LMP Design team in materializing the design concepts for hotel and tourism apartment blocks, such as C4 within the Cap Saint Jacques Complex project located in Vung Tau. We are thrilled to have clinched 2 gold awards at VMARK 2022 - the most esteemed and professional accolade in the design field.

Invested by the Construction Investment and Development Joint Stock Corporation (DIC GROUP), the C4 hotel and tourist apartment block of the Cap Saint Jacques Complex project draws inspiration from the harmonious coexistence between people and nature. Incorporating three core values—Sustainable architecture, Indigenous architecture, and Local culture and beauty—LMP Design strives to instill order and balanced rhythm in the project to achieve sophistication and harmony. Notably, this is the first high-rise building in Vung Tau city to feature a refuge floor, enhancing safety.

We consistently prioritize the arrangement of a "green core" at the project's center, serving as a verdant oasis for the entire development. It serves as both a serene recreational space and a communal hub for residents to connect. The project design aims to eliminate stressors, preserve privacy, and foster a balanced state of physical and mental well-being.

In particular, the limited number of apartments in the luxury segment boast a highly personalized resort-style design. We integrate rustic, minimalist yet opulent elements, utilizing local materials and harnessing the natural elements of light, wind, and sea air to conserve energy. The design concept draws inspiration from natural elements such as hills, grass, trees, and water bubbles, with smart furniture maximizing space usage and delivering a distinctive living experience to residents.

The unique attributes of simplicity and sophistication enabled LMP Design to secure another gold award for resort apartment interior design.

How has LMP Design differentiated and positioned its identity to stand out in the market?

Architecture is a unique field that amalgamates art and engineering. A proficient architect must reconcile creativity, romanticism, and a passion for beauty while ensuring technical precision and project usability. It's apt to describe architects as mathematicians with the soul of an artist. At LMP Design, we deeply value the artistic prowess emanating from the skilled hands of our architects and are privileged to assemble a team comprising architects with extensive domestic and international experience.

Additionally, our business philosophy centers on fostering kindness, prioritizing customer-centricity, and embracing the notion that "simplicity is the epitome of sophistication." These distinctive facets enable LMP Design to surmount the challenges inherent in the industry and carve out a unique niche in the fiercely competitive market.

What are your expectations regarding LMP Design's evolution in the near future?

The pursuit of perfection, coupled with contemporary knowledge in architecture and interior design, has propelled me and my colleagues to establish LMP Design. Our journey toward aesthetic excellence is met with challenges, but securing recognition from experts affirms our dedication. Recently, LMP Design has been consistently selected for prestigious projects by esteemed investors, developers, and brands. While remaining steadfast in our guiding principles, LMP Design will continue to exert utmost effort in conceiving projects characterized by superior construction quality and elevated aesthetic appeal. I firmly believe that design transcends mere architectural harmony and encompasses the creation of substantial value for clients, seamlessly blending practicality, high functionality, aesthetics, and cost optimization.

Diligence and unwavering commitment to the profession will undoubtedly underpin LMP Design's sustainable development and profound transformation in the times ahead.

* You've had exposure to architectural and interior design developments in numerous countries worldwide. Could you share your insights on the current state of your profession?

The architectural landscape remains rife with pertinent discussions and challenges. Urbanization has grown across the nation, resulting in the proliferation of urban areas and metropolises.

While urban areas and cities are expanding nationwide, each locality exhibits its own distinct style, indicating a lack of methodical planning. This results in a patchy urban landscape that fails to fully exploit its inherent potential. Additionally, Vietnamese architecture grapples with various challenges, including a lack of clear creative direction, timidity in creativity, and the persistence of copying and stereotyping. Despite concerted efforts by Vietnamese architectural brands to penetrate the international market, their impact remains relatively modest.

To advance in the field of architecture, each project must establish its unique identity and creative imprint while prioritizing the common interests of society and sustainable development.

"I firmly believe that design is not merely about achieving architectural harmony with the interior, but also about delivering substantial value to customers by integrating practicality, high applicability, and aesthetics while optimizing implementation costs."

What are the future plans for LMP Design?

Our goal is to establish a comprehensive business ecosystem encompassing architectural, interior design, and lighting solution consulting, as well as the supply of lighting materials and equipment. We aspire for LMP Design to emerge as a trailblazing brand in the architectural, interior, and landscape design sectors. As someone who loves my profession and is dedicated to living my passion for design, I deeply value the opportunities to engage with and learn from international design associations. My dream is to contribute to the advancement of architectural and interior design innovation in Vietnam. We will continue to exert our utmost efforts and commitment to each project, aiming to leave a lasting legacy for future generations.

Thank you for sharing your vision and determination.
